    • Shops and Establishments registration online within 60 days of opening with 10 or more workers, and the name board in Marathi
    • Professional tax (a state tax on salaries) registered and deducted, at most Rs 2,500 per employee a year
    Every year after
    • Company, FEMA, payroll and incentive filings on one calendar, through the 10 years the policy asks you to keep operating

    Your incentives, by zone

    Mumbai and Pune regions

We claim up to 20% of your plant and machinery back, computers and software included, or rent support at 10%, plus payroll support at 40% and Rs 1 per unit of power.

    Elsewhere in Maharashtra

We claim rent support at 20%, payroll support at 50% and Rs 2 per unit of power, plus an interest subsidy on term loans.

    Stamp duty

With the Letter of Intent in hand, we claim the exemption: 100% when you buy land or premises, and 50% to 100% in IT parks.

Incentives go first come, first served, and you take the capital subsidy or rent support, never both, so we model the two before you choose.

Questions about a GCC in Maharashtra

Pune or Mumbai: which gets more?

Neither: both sit in the same zone at the same rates. Cities such as Nashik, Nagpur and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar get more, and we compare them before you sign a lease.

Do staff moved from our other offices count?

No. Only new direct employees on payroll count towards the tier; contract staff and transfers from a group office do not.

    Is your team in Maharashtra?

Yes. Our registered and corporate offices are in Mumbai.

Do our directors have to come to India?

No. They sign at home, and our resident director handles the work on the ground.
