CINs issued since 16 February 2026 carry five new codes for the new Registrars: DC (Delhi-II), MR (Mumbai-II), ME (Nagpur), UW (Uttar Pradesh-II) and WR (Kolkata-II). TS, OD and UT replaced TG, OR and UR in 2023. An LLP has an LLPIN, such as AAA-0001, and a foreign company an FCRN, such as F06994.

No. The CIN identifies the company on the MCA register; a GSTIN is a state-wise tax registration, so one company can have several.
Every company registered under the Companies Act. An LLP gets an LLPIN and a foreign company an FCRN.
Not directly. Look the GSTIN up on the GST portal’s Search Taxpayer to get the legal name, then type that name above. A PAN with C as its fourth letter belongs to a company.
Yes, the whole CIN. Its last six digits are the company’s number in the Registrar’s series, which is unique only with the rest of the CIN.
Search the registered name, which can differ from the brand: Paytm’s company is One 97 Communications Limited. A change of name keeps the CIN, and partnership firms and sole proprietors have none.
