It may have changed its name, been registered after 5 August 2026, or be a partnership firm or proprietorship, which MCA does not register. Chhattisgarh companies registered after 31 March 2021 are also missing from the public data.
MCA’s published register lists 3,171,141 companies, 2,137,986 of them Active, plus 562,228 LLPs and 5,352 foreign companies. It leaves out companies registered in Chhattisgarh.
Yes, on MCA’s own master data page or its director search. The public data our search uses leaves them out.
A company’s CIN has 21 characters, such as L85110KA1981PLC013115. An LLP’s LLPIN looks like AAA-0001.
Search its name or CIN. A registered company has a CIN and a date of incorporation; a business MCA does not list is a firm, a proprietorship or not a company.
Check that its name, CIN and registered office match its papers, that it is Active, that its incorporation date fits the track record it claims and that its paid-up capital is in proportion to the deal. Ask us for a full check, with filings and charges, before a large contract.
The RoC, or Registrar of Companies, is the MCA office that holds the company’s record and takes its filings. Each covers a state or a group of states.
